Irlam Vale Teams
The Irlam Vale Family
We currently have more than 15 teams spanning 10+ Age Groups, and we’re always looking to bring more into the fold.
Practice Schedule
Once a Week Practice
Our Teams all train one evening per week, as determined by the coach/manager in charge of that team, at whichever location is relevant.
Winter training takes place on an all-weather training pitch, and the rest of the year it is done on the standard game fields, whichever the respective team plays on.
Kit Information
Home & Away Kits
Our Home Kits are blue shorts, blue socks, and a blue & white striped shirt, accompanied by whatever football boots and shinpads the player has.
Our Away Kits are blue shorts, blue socks, and a yellow shirt, combined with whatever football boots & shinpads the player has.
We have no restrictions on the colours or brand of football boots as long as they are functional, comfortable, and wearable, with the appropriate fixings.
Shinpads MUST be protective and durable to avoid injury and they must comfortably fit inside a player’s football socks, whether affixed by straps or slide-ins.

Irlam Vale Activities & PDFs
Youth Football
We offer youth football for all kids from 4 years old, before separating into boys and girls football at 16 years old.
We believe in football for all, and we do not enforce a separation of teams before the FA-required separation at 16.
Boys Football
From the age of 6 upwards, we offer organised league football for young lads who wish to get involved in the game. This opportunity is designed to teach them discipline, coordination, teamwork, and a helpful skill to stay happy, healthy, and fit throughout their lifetime.
From the age of 16 it becomes a Men’s-only football team and more competitive through the next few years as they gain the necessary strength to face the world and potentially open-age football at 18 years old in a Sunday league team.
Girls Football
From the age of 6 upwards, we offer organised league football for young ladies who wish to get involved in the game. This opportunity is designed to teach them discipline, coordination, teamwork, and helpful skills to stay happy, healthy and fit throughout their lifetime.
From the age of 16, it becomes a women ‘s-only football team and more competitive through the next few years as they gain the necessary strength to face the world and potentially open-age football at 18 years old in a Women’s league team.
Adults Football
In Adults football we can look to offer an organised league team experience for Women in the Women’s open-age Leagues, or for Men in the Men’s Sunday Leagues.
This can provide a fun and stress-relieving weekend session of football, followed by socialising locally/away after the matches.
Summer Activities
Irlam Vale AFC offer Summer Activity clubs throughout the holidays to provide kids with the opportunity to play through the off-season and stay fit, healthy, and fresh with their football skills!
Skills & Drills for Home practice
Need something to keep your kids occupied at home? Send them out into the garden with a football and a copy of our skills and drills for home practice – available straight to your email upon request!
1 to 1/Extra Training
Some of the Managers & Coaches at Irlam Vale AFC offer 1-to-1/Extra Training sessions for kids to continue improving outside training & matchday sessions! We can also discuss external trainers!
